We have the following wines with our comments (vineyards tasting notes attached):
Champagne Le Gallais Brut Cuvee Du Manoir non-vintage. (boxes of 6)
This fantastic champagne comes from a tiny family (father and daughter) owned and run property in the small village of Boursault just outside Epernay, the heart of champagne country. Total production is only 25,000 bottles all of which until now has been sold in France. We find it full fresh and dry. Elle magazine says " 3 years aging in the cave has put the finishing touches on the personality of this seductive champagne which presents itself in a beautiful golden robe. It introduces itself with a superb froth formed by bubbles of an ideal finesse and a persistent ribbon of bubbles which denotes well raised champagnes. Alive and enlightened the nose combines nicely notes of dried fruit lightly grilled brioche. It announces itself as a wine that pleasantly awakens the palate. Full but with a freshness and touch of a balanced wine which leads to a long finish unveiling the profound nature of the pinot grapes.". Apologies to Elle for my translation abilities.

A great find at a fantastic price and you will be the only ones outside France drinking it. Hows that for cachet?

Pete’s Shed – Sauvignon Blanc – 2010
Classic New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. We have noticed that the trend in New Zealand has been toward slightly sweeter Sauvignon Blancs. This one harks back a few years and is a touch drier.
